Hello everyone,

== TL;DR SUMMARY ==
There is a bug with the Patrol Log on Wikitroid where patrols are being
attributed to the person who made the original edit being patrolled and
not the admin/patroller who actually patrolled the edit. I reported the
problem to Wikia, who say that they are working on solving it, but it
doesn't seem like they've seen it before. There is also another bug so
far known to affect User:N1ghtrav3n that is preventing users from
logging in at all. Lastly, the MediaWiki 1.19 upgrade (which seems to
be the cause of all these problems) may be causing site
design/formatting problems on Wikitroid; if you notice any, please
contact an admin.

If you want some more details, or to see what Wikia said in response to
my bug report, read on:

I noticed some discussion about it on IRC today, so I just wanted to let
everyone know that I sent a bug report to Wikia about the patrol log
<http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Log/patrol> bug.

For those of you that don't know about it, it appears to have started
with the MediaWiki 1.19 upgrade. Click on the link to the patrol log
above, and you'll notice that patrols are being attributed to the person
(even IP) who made the edit being patrolled, /not/ the admin or
patroller that actually patrolled the edit. There are a couple other
odd things too, but that's the primary bug. There are also some
exceptions where the patroller is correctly attributed, but this is the
small minority of entries in the patrol log.

I submitted a bug report to Wikia with this text (and an attached
screenshot demonstrating the bug) yesterday:

> I have found a serious bug related to Recent Changes and New Page patrolling that seems to be a result of the MediaWiki 1.19 upgrade. Attached is a screenshot of Wikitroid's (metroid.wikia.com) Patrol Log after I finished patrolling a day's worth of edits. I believe that these are the first edits patrolled since the 1.19 upgrade. All of the patrols shown in the screenshot were performed by me; however, as you can see, only a few of the patrols are actually attributed to me as the patrolling admin - the rest are all attributed to the user (or, in one case, IP) that made the original edit that was patrolled. Indeed, none of the users (aside from me) listed in the screenshotted logs actually have the necessary user groups or permissions to patrol edits.
>
> Another odd bug that can be seen in the same screenshot is that User:N1ghtrav3n's contribs link is red, even though N1ghtrav3n is an established user with many edits.

Today I got this response back from Wikia:

I can definitely confirm something doesn't appear quite right when going through that log this afternoon. I will pass your report directly to our technical staff for investigation and review.

Based on the reply, it doesn't seem like they've seen this problem
before, so it might be a while before it gets resolved, but hopefully it
will be resolved soon (because it's also mucking up the IRC
RecentChanges feed).

There is also another major bug affecting Wikitroid and other Wikias now
that's preventing users from logging in. So far, User:N1ghtrav3n is the
only Wikitroid user to have reported this problem to us on IRC, but I
don't know how many could be affected total.

Lastly, it looks like the MediaWiki 1.19 upgrade has caused some
problems with our site design and CSS stylesheets. If you notice any
problems with formatting and site design and such, just let an admin
know any way you know how. :P
