In response to the recent news stories about radiation from the Japanese Fukushima nuclear power plants reaching the United States, we (i.e., my Chemistry teacher and I) decided to hook up a Geiger counter to a computer via a Vernier LabPro and take a running measurement of background radiation every thirty seconds for the next few days. This is a picture of the complete "scan station" if you will. See notes in image for details on what's what.
